Vonetta B. Martin

Ms. Vonetta B. Martin has fifteen plus years of dedicated service with Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Incorporated through Gamma Chapter, Washington D.C.  She provides service and guidance as Iota’s National Executive Director since November 2015 and Chairwoman of the  National Publicity Committee.   She established with her family in 2008, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, media broadcasting company called Caribbeana Communications Incorporated (www.caribbeana.org).  She worked on developing its radio platform to include online radio and expand its publicity affairs using social media outlets such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.  She works as an on and off consultant for the family established nonprofit.

Currently, Vonetta works for the State of Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) Social Services Administration (SSA) as its Systems Development Manager as of March 2019. She serves as an IT project manager.   Prior to that Vonetta held a thirteen year career with the District of Columbia government, where she served in various roles with the Department of Small and Local Business Development as a Senior Business Certification Analyst,  Senior Compliance Specialist, team lead for the Compliance and Enforcement Division, as well as a Business Development Specialist. She has her BA in Communication and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Vonetta has experience with project management, publicity, and communications, strategic management, planning, partnership development, technical writing, as well as grant writing.
