Business Month

President Crop3Greetings Sorors,

This is an important and exciting time across Iotaland, as our sisterhood celebrates Business Month throughout the month of April

As your National President, I encourage each of you to emphasize business and business training during your various chapter events this month. Whether you are sponsoring a luncheon or dinner, or presenting a speaker or seminar in your community, your activities should highlight the importance of supporting women in business vocations and preparing our youth to pursue business careers.

In what remains a tough economic climate across the county — one that has challenged many if not all of us in recent years — Iota’s mission, purpose and goals are more vital and relevant than ever.  Business Month gives us the opportunity to emphasize and promote economic empowerment for women, entrepreneurship and leadership development as we reach out to public audiences, youth, and businesswomen in our local communities.

It is up to each of us to make valuable contributions to our chapters and our communities with meaningful events this Business Month.  Our commitment to doing so not only honors our founder, Lola Mercedes Parker, but also brings Iota one step closer to her vision:  an organization that encourages, inspires, nurtures and assists people engaged in business.

Best wishes to all of you for a successful and memorable Business Month!

Sincerely,

Phyllis Shumate

21st National President
