Why Build a HQ
This is the natural evolution from rental property to “home ownership.” We as a body have envisioned IOTA’s own space/property since 1946. The timing is right with the revitalization of areas in Washington, D.C., and amount of property our buying power could conceivably obtain.
Purpose of the Space?
The headquarters will provide administrative space to meet the general needs of our membership, and increase partnerships with our affiliates. The office of the Executive Director for Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. will be in the space. The National President will have a private office. The National Board will meet there for midyear board meetings. The local chapters in the surrounding area will have access to provide community outreach. Sorors from around the country are invited to visit the headquarters when in the D.C. area. The space will also provide room for our national archives.
